From mice to men: Re-translational approaches testing the translational validity of behavioral animal paradigms

Translational research utilizes animal models to identify neurobiological mechanisms underlying human emotions. However, validity of such animal models for human emotions has not yet been established thoroughly. In this project we systematically re-translate animal paradigms using virtual reality to examine their translational validity in the human model. The expected results on re-translation of anxiety and locomotion paradigms will validate animal research on this topic, may help to improve translational models, and impact translational research in general by facilitating interactions and showcase differences between model organisms.
