Our research is embedded in the field of cognitive neuroscience with a special focus on social and emotional processes. Additionally, we are interested in forensic psychology with respect to basic as well as applied research questions such as deception detection or credibility assessment. We employ a multimodal approach involving behavioral studies, eye-tracking, EEG and functional neuroimaging. While most experiments in our lab rely on healthy participants, we also carry out clinical studies in patients with psychiatric disorders such as social anxiety, autism spectrum or borderline personality disorders.
We mainly teach Biological Psychology in the Bachelor and Master Degree Programs of Psychology and we are involved in the international Master program Translational Neuroscience.
